Fantastic Drugstore, “12:00”

For some reason, this song really reminds me of Hyukoh’s “Gondry,” both in terms of the sound of the music, the vocals, and the lyrics. There’s something about the calming music, the idea of just sitting and accepting the way things are in the stillness of the early morning as the sunlight chases away the chill of night, that permeates both songs, even though the relationships depicted are fairly different. I love it all.

English:

True, it’s something we’ve already seen

You and I will grow cold again

Stoke the remaining fire for me

We’ll become a little warmer

Over the hidden sun

we will be illuminated unwittingly

Until then, let’s stay like this

True, it’s something we’ve already seen

You and I will grow cold

True, we will collapse

Only wounds will be left

I should rush my heart

The loose string should be tied tight

Over the hidden sun

we will be illuminated unwittingly

Until then, let’s stay like this

True, we will collapse

Only wounds will be left

Over the hidden sun

we will be illuminated unwittingly

Until then, let’s stay like this

Oh, lean on me, back to back

Let your sleepy, heavy eyes close

Let’s breathe quietly

True, it’s something we’ve already seen

You and I will become able to laugh

We’ll be able to relax

Let’s just stay like this
