Geune (The Swing), “I’ve Never Forgotten How You Said the Blossoms Were Falling (feat. Han SooYeon)”

The Korean in this song is incredibly easy to understand, but incredibly difficult to reproduce in English. This is a pretty colloquial translation, not literal at all.

English:

Yet again, time silently ushers in the seasons

All of a sudden, it was the day I let go of your hand

Like a single cherry blossom that bloomed on a beautiful spring day,

you and I were beautiful but now we’re disappearing

I wasn’t sure if our dates were just a dream

Those moments we were together are so far away

I’ve never forgotten how you said the blossoms were falling

In the place where the wind lingered, it still lingers as always

That day, that place, that time, your beautiful hands

If I had grabbed them, if I had held onto them,

would this pain still have come to be?

I didn’t know if you were wandering on your way back, so

I couldn’t even take a single step, I’m still like that

I’ve never forgotten how you said the blossoms were falling

In the place where the wind lingered, it still lingers as always

I’ve never forgotten how you said the blossoms were falling

In the place where the wind lingered, it still lingers as always

I’ve never forgotten how you said the blossoms were falling

Even if spring passes and fall comes, my heart won’t change

My heart won’t change, my heart won’t change

Yet again, time silently ushers in the seasons

All of a sudden, it was the day I let go of your hand
