Changmo, “Maestro”

I’m not gonna lie, this took me SO MUCH WORK and I’m STILL absolutely sure there are massive gaps in accuracy, even though there were times I asked my Korean friends and Googled and even native speakers seemed thoroughly confused. But I always hope an approximation is more useful than nothing at all. Plus, I learned a new grammar point (을 바에) so I hope it was all worthwhile! There are also a lot of notes and links to help aid the understanding of this song; some are more important than others.

Mic

날 비춰라 all of the lights

박수 no no 2악장 play 할렐루야

Woah

I don’t give a fuck, son, I’mma fuck you up

Deepflow

2nd round

‘Piano

English:

I’ve played the piano since I was 5; I was quite talented

Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, and Chopin were my predecessors

However, at 14, I put them aside and started writing lyrics

I quite like this, you can’t make money that way, they can all shove it

Unlimited refills of Versace drank

That’s my first movement

Maserati car, white marble house

That’s my second movement

The mic is my baton

Call me maestro, maestro

Truthfully, distressed pants are way better than suit pants

I can’t be gentle, I just scream and the money piles up

The wealthy are all on the gentle side

Mr. Geonhee, give up your CEO title to me

Mr. Nochang should give me his “genius” name

You listen to my line just now and say I’m fucked up

But rather than being locked up by life,

I’d rather plunge right into the risks

As the kid that dreamed played the piano wrapped in vinyl,

I’m knew my voice would be my moneymaker

I dug a huge pit in the neighborhood ground with music

And declared that my confidence was my classic image

“To me, a Sonata is just a car.” [1]

I’ll never think anything like that

Illuminate me, all of the lights

The first movement of my symphony is ending right now

Fuck da capo, I’ll never to go back to the beginning

No applause, no, play the second movement, hallelujah [2]

I’ve played the piano since I was 5; I was quite talented

Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, and Chopin were my predecessors

However, at 14, I put them aside and started writing lyrics

I quite like this, you can’t make money that way, they can all shove it

Unlimited refills of Versace drank

That’s my first movement

Maserati car, white marble house

That’s my second movement

The mic is my baton

Call me maestro, maestro

Hash hash hash hash #make money

Hash hash hash hash #unique talent

Shoutout to Kubrick, shoutout to Faust, Goethe

Shoutout to Michael Tyson, shoutout to Gogh, Warhol, (Pi)casso

And add my name

Woah, Korean Einstein, the normal kids can fuck off

But I don’t give a fuck, son, I’mma fuck you up

Here is your tombstone with your name written on it

My art hall is the club, call me maestro

I’m called that in accordance with my rank

But I can’t surpass Park Geon Woo or Karajan’s work, so

This is Deepflow’s, it works well together

I demolished the second round

This is the end of the classical terminology, the 2nd movement

My girl said she liked this sort of background

“Piano and rapping,” I have my own private orchestra

A keyboard and broken MacBook

Even God Sejong isn’t above me

I perform my life

I’ve played the piano since I was 5; I was quite talented

Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, and Chopin were my predecessors

However, at 14, I put them aside and started writing lyrics

I quite like this, you can’t make money that way, they can all shove it

Unlimited refills of Versace drank

That’s my first movement

Maserati car, white marble house

That’s my second movement

The mic is my baton

Call me maestro, maestro

[1] Sonata is a type of car produced by Hyundai, but it’s also a style of music.

[2] When classical music is performed live, applause is held between movements.

(You translated it ‘Mr. Geonhee is just a title, Mr. Nochang had a hard time with his gender’ But it’s wrong)
Geonhee Lee is CEO of Samsung,
    Nochang is artist Cheonjae(Genius)Nochang
So it means literally :Mr. Geonhee get away from your position(CEO), Mr Nochang you get rid of your name
So the line means : He(Changmo) will get a lot of money like Geonhee(CEO and most rich in Korea), and he is the genius.

Thank you! I asked all of my Korean friends and they said they didn’t know what it meant so I just did my best. I fixed it, hopefully it makes more sense now! Please let me know if you find any other mistakes~
