Jaejoo Boys, “Let’s Run”

The only other time I covered Jaejoo Boys was when they collaborated with Reach for the Moon for “Moment of Confession,” so I thought it was high time to translate one of their own songs. This whimsical song about old love and accepting adulthood is similar in sound to their collaboration as well.

English:

[Let’s run until it seems like our lungs will burst

to the top of the high hill]

to that place where we met,

when I first met you

I’m that guy who hung about the lakeside

Beads of sweat became a song

Whenever I hummed that song, the sun would set

If you pass that huge hill,

there’s a small neighborhood

As a kid, I thought it was the whole world

There’s a clear song

It calls me from far away

Why am I still here,

hesitating over something

I’m running

on the road through the forest in my dream

We were always smiling

[hat sea, by that expansive sea,

you were my lover but I could only see your back]

There’s an old song

I still miss it, but

no matter where I go, there’s no trace of it

I’m forgetting it all, but

I’m running

on the beach in the forest of my dreams
