That’s OK

Snow Owl, “That’s OK”

“That’s OK” is a cute song about a girl summoning up the courage to ask a guy out. I would actually guess that girl-to-guy confessions of love are more popular in Korea than in the West, but maybe Confessions and Asking Out are two different things. In any case, the lyrics make a big deal out of the fact that the girl thinks it’s totally ok for women to ask men out.

With a cheerful piano, relaxed guitar and simple bass line, this song really suits my tastes. My friend said it sounded like he was going grocery shopping in a beach resort town, and I am still trying to figure out if that is an insult or compliment.

Lyrics

Call you. my everything.

Oh, that’s OK

Call you. my sunshine.

Oh, that’s OK

Oh, that’s OK

English:

Even if today just passes like this
I’ll be able to talk to you tomorrow.
“The weather is quite nice.”
“Have you eaten?”
“Do you have time today?”

Call you, my everything
Even still, will it be ok?

Oh, that’s ok, I’m not worried about that sort of thing
[There’s no need for men to go first
and women’s hearts to follow after, slowly, surely]
It’s ok to just do it like that

Today I’ll speak my mind
I don’t know how tomorrow will turn out
“The weather is quite nice.”
Now I want to summon up courage
“Do you want to date me?”

Call you, my sunshine
But still, will it be ok?

Oh, that’s ok, I’m not worried about that sort of thing
[There’s no need for men to go first
and women’s hearts to follow after, slowly, surely]
It’s ok to just do it like that

Oh, that’s ok, I’m not worried about that sort of thing
[There’s no need for men to go first
and women’s hearts to follow after, slowly, surely]
It’s ok to just do it like that
