병살 ~ 사라질 것들 (피쳐링 이소라, 빈지노)

Double Play (Jun Ha and Kim C), “Things That Disappear (feat. Lee So Ra, Beenzino)”

It seems like all the songs for Infinity Challenge’s West Coast Highway Music Festival have been doing very well, and while KeoMeoRi (Park Myung Soo and Primary, feat. Gaeko) has received the bulk of the attention for their song “I Got C,” thanks at least in small part to not-unfounded plagiarism claims, I think my personal favorite might have to be this song. Yet one more song whose lyrics I’ll have to work at to understand~

EDIT (2013.12.9):
I have never felt more rewarded for looking into the lyrics of a song. Not that the lyrics were particularly difficult to understand, but because I felt a great affinity with the meaning. It has everything to do with accepting life’s impermanence and being comfortable with the inscrutable future. The only line I don’t entirely agree with is, “어떻게 될지는 이미 정해져 있는 거고 우린 모를뿐야,” which roughly translates into, “We simply don’t know what predetermined things will come to pass.” Since I am particularly unfond of predetermination, this line bothers me a little. But all other aspects of the lyrics are as beautiful as the quiet, plodding beat and long strings of melody that accompany them; the advice not to hold onto things that disappear, such as flowers, time, a situation, the people we meet, and ultimately, everything… the comparison of life to weather outside the window… the desire to move forward despite not knowing what the future holds… I find this a truly poignant and profound song.
