Kim Ji Soo, “Chocolate Drive”
In anticipation of Kim Ji Soo releasing new music on the 27th, I wanted to post one of his songs.
I was first exposed to him through Dream High 2. Since I don’t watch any singing competition blah blah shows, I had no idea who he was. I just thought, “This dude is amazing. He and Hyorin should leave everything else and just make beautiful, beautiful music together.” I seriously only finished watching Dream High 2 because of them.
By far my favorite was their laundry-room rendition of “Covered Road (가리워진 길)”, but “Good Day (좋은 날)” is a close second:
I then re-encountered him, without realizing it was the same person, when Eat Your Kimchi reviewed “Vintage Man” in one of their Korean Indie Playlists. After I put two and two together and got four (“four” being the fact that the awesomeness that I had experienced in DH2 was the same interestingness as Vintage Man) I promptly scavenged other Kim Ji Soo material. This of course brought up Chocolate Drive, a song originally by Moida that he covered for Superstar K2.
ANYWAY, basically I am just looking forward to what delights Don’t Let Me Go will bring (although “Don’t Let Me Go” is also the name of a 10cm song I am particularly fond of).
